Reveal IR – AiTR Crowd Scenario

With proven expertise in the development of innovative threat detection solutions, Reveal appreciates the complexities associated with long-standing security challenges.  Real-time standoff detection of concealed threats in an unstructured crowd is one such challenge, complicated by occlusions, irregular motion, artifacts, and environmental variables such as temperature, humidity, and illumination.

Reveal delivers state-of-the-art threat-detection products to security stakeholders throughout the world.  The Reveal CT-80DR, supported by our technology advancements in signal processing, segmentation, and data fusion, delivers superior automated threat detection and threat assessment for baggage inspection.  Realizing that technology breakthroughs can be achieved by applying existing skills with a fresh approach, we applied these same advanced baggage-screening tools to the problem of crowd screening.

This infrared video depicts a simulated uncontrolled crowd that includes one person concealing an explosive simulant.  In spite of occlusions and environmental effects, a Reveal-developed automated threat-detection algorithm is able to detect and track the threat object.  Reveal, in collaboration with governments around the world, continues to invest in the research and development of people-screening solutions, including those applicable to the unstructured crowd.
