Reveal is comprised of leaders in the explosives detection industry.
The team includes baggage-screening experts who have been instrumental in defining the industry, driving some of its most significant advances.

Members of Reveal's team have been directly responsible for the development and certification of the currently certified CT scanner models. Team members have participated in the development and integration of the majority of the in-line explosives detection systems installed worldwide.

Management Team


Mr. Michael Ellenbogen, President & CEO, was formerly Vice President of Product and Business Development for PerkinElmer Detection Systems where he was responsible for Research and Development, Engineering and Marketing. Prior to PerkinElmer’s acquisition of Vivid Technologies, Inc., Mr. Ellenbogen served as the Director of Marketing for Vivid Technologies. Mr. Ellenbogen joined Vivid in 1994 from Analog Devices, Inc., where he was Product Marketing Manager. At both Vivid and PerkinElmer, Mr. Ellenbogen was responsible for market research, definition and development of new products and product enhancements. Mr. Ellenbogen holds a Physics degree from Colgate University, has been issued five patents in the field of X-ray inspection and automated detection technology and has been broadly published within the security industry.

Dr. Richard Bijjani, Chief Technology Officer, has been in the security business for over 12 years. In 1990 he managed R&D during the development of a dynamic signature verification product at Kumahira Inc. In 1994 Dr. Bijjani joined InVision Technologies as head of the Algorithm and Machine Vision group. He oversaw the algorithm development effort that led to the successful certification by the FAA of multiple EDS systems. Dr. Bijjani joined Vivid Technologies in 1997 where he led the design and development of the additional EDS systems. Dr. Bijjani has a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Mr. James Buckley, Vice President of Sales, joined Vivid Technologies in 1997 and served for three years as Vice President of New Business Development. With the PerkinElmer acquisition in January 2000, Mr. Buckley took on the responsibilities of Vice President of Business Development for PerkinElmer Detection Systems. Prior to joining Vivid, Mr. Buckley served four years as Vice President of Sales at Thermedics Detection, a manufacturer of explosives trace detection equipment. Before this position, he was Director of Marketing and Sales for the Security Division of Thermedics Detection. In this capacity, Mr. Buckley was responsible for all product planning, marketing and sales. He has a BS in Biology from Merrimack College.

Mr. Bruce S. Lee, Vice President of Product Development, is a 1984 graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and held product development positions in electronics capital equipment, business software and medical x-ray industries before joining Vivid Technologies in 1991. During his tenure at Vivid, he held various positions including Principal Software Engineer, Program Manager, Product Development Manager and Director of Software Engineering. After PerkinElmer acquired Vivid in 2000, he was appointed the Product Line Manager for PerkinElmer’s Conventional X-ray security product line.

Mr. John Sanders, Vice President Business Development, joined Vivid Technologies in 1996 as Director of Corporate Affairs. He also served in marketing and sales and government affairs with Vivid and PerkinElmer Detection Systems. Prior to joining Vivid, Mr. Sanders was a co-founder of Quantum Magnetics and served as their Vice President of Business Development. Mr. Sanders has over 15 years experience in security inspection systems development, marketing and sales, with extensive experience working with US Government affairs. Mr. Sanders left PerkinElmer Detection Systems in June 2001 and joined SAIC where he held the position of Vice-President of Corporate Development for the VACIS Cargo Inspection product line.

Mr. Elan Scheinman, Vice President of Marketing, was formerly Director of Business Development for PerkinElmer Detection Systems. Mr. Scheinman has over 15 years experience developing, marketing, and selling x-ray security equipment. Prior to PerkinElmer Detection Systems, Mr. Scheinman was a founding member of InVision Technologies, the developer of the first FAA Certified Explosive Detection System. At InVision Mr. Scheinman held senior positions in Product Development, Project Management, Marketing, and most recently was General Manager of InVision’s WoodVision product line. Mr. Scheinman has been broadly published in both the medical and security industry. Mr. Scheinman holds one patent pertaining to the usage of CT images in industrial applications.

Mr. David Reissfelder, Vice President of Finance and Administration, joined Reveal in 2003 as Controller.    Before joining Reveal, Mr. Reissfelder worked at Ciena Corporation, a global supplier of telecommunications equipment.  At Ciena, he held various roles, including Manager of International Finance at the company headquarters in Maryland.  In this position, he was a key contributor in the development and implementation of the financial, accounting, administrative and logistics functions for Ciena’s international operations – which included over 20 international locations in Europe, Asia and Latin America.  Before his international role, he was a Divisional Controller for the Access Systems Division.  Mr. Reissfelder also worked at Omnia Communications, a venture-backed telecommunications equipment manufacturer in Boston, MA and as Controller at Audax Group, a private equity firm in Boston, MA.  Mr. Reissfelder began his career in public accounting at Pannell Kerr Forster, in Boston, MA.  Mr. Reissfelder became a licensed CPA in Massachusetts in May 1997 and holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Babson College. 

Mr. Thomas Roy, Vice President of Supply Chain Management. Mr. Roy is the newest member of the management team having joined in 2006 and is responsible for Advanced Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Operations.  Mr. Roy joined Stratus in 1988 and held a number of positions including Program Manager, Project Consultant, and Director of Advanced Manufacturing.  As Director of Advanced Manufacturing at Stratus Technology Mr. Roy successfully introduced over 25 New Products, coordinated the transition of New Products into Volume Production, and managed several Contract Manufacturers.  Prior to joining Stratus, Mr. Roy held a number of Program Management and Operations positions at Wang Laboratories and Digital Equipment Corporation.  Mr. Roy holds a Masters Degree in Management from Lesley College.

Ms. Jane Garvey, Executive Vice President and Chairman, Transportation, APCO Worldwide. Ms. Garvey is also a lecturer and research scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Center for Transportation and Logistics. Prior to joining APCO, Ms. Garvey served as the first ever five-term administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), leading the nation's aviation system into the 21st century. Under her leadership, the FAA successfully navigated the year 2000 transition, established a risk management approach across the entire aviation community to improve aviation safety, and achieved aggressive strides to expand the capacity and capabilities of the air traffic control system. Prior to becoming FAA Administrator in 1997, Ms. Garvey was acting administrator and previously deputy administrator of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). Before joining FHWA in 1993, Ms. Garvey was director of Boston's Logan International Airport, and from 1988 to 1991, she was commissioner of the Massachusetts Department of Public Works. Ms. Garvey was recently named one of the "Top Public Officials of the 20th Century" by the American Road and Transportation Builders Association. As FAA Administrator and in her previous leadership positions, Ms. Garvey has received numerous awards and public recognition, including the National Air Transportation Association's Distinguished Service Award, the National Council of Public-Private Partnerships Leadership Award, the National Award of Excellence from the National Association from State Aviation Officials, the Leadership Award from the American Association of Airport Executives, and the Woman of the Year award from both Women in Transportation Seminar and Women in Politics.

Dr. Jay A. Stein, co-founder, Chairman Emeritus and the Chief Technical Officer of Hologic, Inc., has served as Executive Vice President, Chief Technical Officer and a director of Hologic since its organization in October 1985 and served as Chairman of the Hologic Board of Directors from June 2001 to November 2002. From July 1989 to January 2000, Dr. Stein was also the Senior Vice President, Technical Director and a director of Vivid Technologies, Inc. Prior to co-founding Hologic, Dr. Stein served as Vice President and Technical Director of Diagnostic Technology, Inc. (“DTI”), which he co-founded in 1981. Dr. Stein received a Ph.D. in Physics from The Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is the principal author of fifteen patents involving X-ray technology.
